(ZIZ News) — On Saturday, members of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) participated in the club’s annual Christmas Hamper Distribution Activity.

Club President, Dr. Marcus Natta, said the activity is a means of ensuring that the less fortunate across St. Kitts can enjoy the Christmas holiday season as well. He noted in a recent interview that the activity also gave RCL members the opportunity to spend time visiting with some fifty families who benefit from the initiative.

Just before moving off from the Sands Complex, Dr. Natta spoke to ZIZ News’ Ajaye Evans.

“Each year the Rotary Club of Liamuiga embarks on its annual Christmas Hamper Distribution Project where we take hampers to at least fifty families throughout the island. This year is of course no different and we have just loaded up our vehicles and we’re about to canvas the island. We split up into various convoys and we canvas all of the villages throughout the island,” he said.

He also gave an idea of what the care packages included.

“We have packets here with food supplies, toiletries. We also have a hot plate that we give the person so that they can eat right away. Each year this is probably the most heart-warming project that the Rotary Club of Liamuiga undertakes and we are also blessed this year to have so students with us from the REACH programme. We’re also blessed to have Premier Dental on board, partnering with us, who donated some dental supplies as well,” he said.
