Basseterre, St. Kitts – The Rotary Club of Liamuiga and the Rotary Club of St. Kitts jointly hosted District 7030 Governor (2015-2016) Mr Milton Inniss of the Rotary Club of Barbados West. District Governor Milton is the sixth governor of Rotary’s District 7030, which includes the islands of the Eastern Caribbean as well as Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.
 
District Governor Milton, a quantity surveyor by profession, visited the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis from July 27-30, 2015. As part of his visit to the Federation, District Governor Milton participated in meetings and fellowships with the 2 local Rotary Clubs. The district governor also met with the adolescent and young adult members of the Interact Club of the Basseterre High School and the Rotaract Club of St. Kitts.
 
The Rotary International theme for this 2015-2016 Rotary year is “Be a Gift to the World” and District Governor Milton highlighted six areas of focus to help clubs to live up to this theme – Rotary Foundation, Membership, Public Relations, Rotaract & Interact, Rotary Training and Dyslexia.
 
“We must continue to tell our story to the world. We must always wear out pin as it is a symbol of who we are and the organization that we serve,” emphasized District Governor Milton. “Make efficient and frequent use of the media, social media, your websites, Rotary Showcase and newsletters to showcase the good work that we do.  There can never be too much publicity.”
 
During his four-day visit, District Governor Milton also paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the Acting Governor General Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton QC CVO, who is also a Rotarian. He also toured the various project sites of the 2 Rotary Clubs.
